Raced out of the capitol after the house education subcommittee decided to postpone in order to caucus. Meeting is now at 6pm. Switched into my comfy gear and taking a few minutes to catch my breath before heading out to therapy.

Learned a lot today. Keep writing your legislators. Ask them to remove teacher compensation from the AEA bill. Continue to advocate for economy of scale services over fee for service models. Ask legislators to set State Supplemental Aid (SSA) at 3%. This will allow districts to set budgets for certification which is due on 3/15/24. The date for setting SSA has already passed. District need this funding set so they can begin contract negotiations. We need to continue to advocate because no legislation is ever dead until the session is over.

Spoke with both Representative Gehlbach and Senator Whitver. Was proud to thank them for their sacrifice and service. Grateful to teach about our unique situation regarding zero enrollment increase. We are a unique 4A rural school district. Any legislation passed will impact DCG uniquely. Reach out to them to share your unique story.
