Special Election Ballot Info

The last few days have been a whirlwind of ISASP testing, meetings with community members and a meeting with a police officer. I've been wanting to post regarding what the ballots would look. What can I say I'm a teacher.

I uploaded pictures of the sample ballots for Dallas Center - Grimes CSD stakeholders to see. I'm a visual learner. I also like to have all the notes and information on a particular topic so I'm sharing that information now.

First Ballot

The majority of DCG residents will receive the first ballot. It will have two questions. The first will be the vote for At-Large Board Member.

Second Ballot

The second picture is a sample ballot for residents of District 1. This ballot will ask residents to vote on the At-Large Board Member as well as a District Director Board Member.

Method of Election for ALL Board Members

Both ballots will also ask residents a question. This is the question about Public Measure Letter A.

This question relates to the method of election for ALL school board members. The question asks whether it is desirable to move from the current method of 4 District Directors and 3 At-Large Board Members to all 7 At-Large Members.

  • If you want to change the way we elect school board members you would vote yes.
  • If you believe in distributing board members around the district to more equitably represent all areas of our district then you would vote NO.
Tuesday, April 11th

The special election is on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. You can find your polling location by clicking here.

I'm working hard to be elected. I commit to representing parents, teachers, and students on the school board. I am an excellent communicator and will do the hard work. Please vote #nbcfordcg this Tuesday.
